Annual Professional Lecture - "Human Resources 2.1"

by David Fairhurst, Senior Vice President & Chief People Officer for Northern Europe, McDonald's and Visiting Professor, MMU

Date: Tuesday 16th March 2010

Time: Drinks reception from 6pm; Lecture 6.30-7.30pm

Venue: Michael E Porter Lecture Theatre, MMU Business School, Aytoun Building, Aytoun Street, Manchester M1 3GH

Many in the HR world – thinkers, suppliers and practitioners alike – are becoming increasingly excited at the prospect of what many are calling "Human Resources 2.0": an era where social networking and emerging online technologies will lay at the heart of progressive HR practice.

In this challenging and thought-provoking lecture David will take a close look at the key ideas underpinning this proposed transformation of the discipline. In doing so, he will evaluate both the risks and opportunities which are likely to present themselves over the next few years and proposes an approach to HR which will enable organisations to thrive in this new era – "Human Resources 2.1".

This event is FREE to attend and is open to all.
